TRS-ActiveCare provides health coverage to nearly half a million active public education employees and their dependents. TRS-ActiveCare is a self-funded program, not an insured plan. Rates and benefits are established each year by the TRS Trustees based on the claims experience of the plan.
TRS-ActiveCare has three plan options administered by Aetna and Caremark plus three regional health maintenance organization options.
The TRS Board of Trustees adopted benefit and premium changes for TRS-ActiveCare plans that take effect Sept. 1, 2017.
