The Pulse, January 2021
Welcome to your 2021 TRS-Care plan! TRS is excited about our new partnerships with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) and UnitedHealthcare. These new partnerships will not only offer savings to TRS-Care, but also offer a suite of health and wellness value-added benefits. Your health and wellness matter to us, which is why we’re devoted to care you can count on!
Getting Started with Your New Plan
With the start of the new plan year, you may need a refresher on your 2021 benefits. You can check out the
2021 TRS-Care Plan Highlights (pdf) for a quick overview of what your costs for care will be.
You can also setup your online member account to access your Explanation of Benefits, check status of claims, review benefits, find in-network providers, and order replacement member ID cards.
-
TRS-Care Standard participants: You can access your Blue Access for Members account by visiting
bcbstx.com/trscarestandard and clicking “Log In” at the top right corner. Next, click on “Register Now” and follow the prompts to setup a new account.
-
TRS-Care Medicare Advantage participants: You can access your member account by going to
retiree.uhc.com/trs-carema and clicking on the “Register now” link under the “Already a plan participant?” box. Next, you can follow the prompts to set up your new account.
Now that you have your ID card, you should contact your providers’ offices to give them your new ID card number so they have it on file. If you haven’t confirmed your providers’ network status, it’s important you do so before your next visit. You can find in-network providers through your plan’s provider search tool.
