Intern Program

Our Summer Internship Program is a ten week program that is geared towards undergraduate and graduate students. It is a great way for students to apply their skills, gain experience, and help unlock their professional career.

Applications will post in the fall and be open until they are filled.

  • Internship Requirements

    • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree program
    • Ability to work full time
    • Must reside in Texas for the duration of the internship
    • Available for June-August program dates

Fellowship Program

The purpose is to provide on-the-job training and experiential learning for recent college graduates, allowing them to gain valuable work experience alongside TRS staff in a variety of different areas.

The Fellowship Program position is a full-time, temporary, limited-term assignment not to exceed three years from the date of hire.

  • Our Program Will

    • Provide participants with an understanding of working within a state agency
    • Enhance the participants’ appreciation for public service
    • Provide participants with the experience in a working office environment
    • Allow participants the opportunity to participate in professional development opportunities 
  • Fellowship Requirements

    • Applicants must have completed a post-secondary degree within the last 12 months and no longer be enrolled in courses full-time
    • Participate in quarterly, agency wide check-ins with various stakeholders to ensure learning goals are being met   
As an emerging professional, I feel fortunate to have begun my career with TRS. My internship and fellowship have provided numerous learning opportunities and resources dedicated to my professional development.
