Austin features a traffic flow feature known as a roundabout, or traffic circle. This design slows traffic and enhances safety. You may be required to navigate a few on the way to and around Mueller. TxDOT has a tutorial so you can learn more about how roundabouts work.
It’s simple if you keep a few basic concepts in mind:
- Yield for traffic that is already moving counterclockwise through the circle. They have the right-of-way.
- When the outside lane is clear, enter the circle, and flow into the inner lane.
- To take your desired exit street, flow into the outer lane if clear.
- Proceed onto the exit street.
