Our members are our mission. We are the largest public retirement system in Texas, serving two million people. We strive to continue earning your trust every day. TRS improves the retirement security of our Texas public education employees through our “best in class” investment management and diligent delivery of pension and health care benefits.

Welcome From Our Executive Director
I am humbled and honored to serve as the ninth executive director for TRS. Since our retirement system was established in 1937, we have grown dramatically from 38,000 members to more than two million public education employees and retirees today. The fund itself has grown to an investment value of approximately $209.5 billion. In FY 2024, TRS paid over $15.1 billion in retirement benefits to more than 508,700 retirees and their beneficiaries.
Despite our growth, we remain focused and committed to delivering benefits efficiently while prudently managing the assets held in the TRS Trust Fund for the people we serve.
As executive director, I strive to operate the agency as transparently as possible and welcome your input and suggestions. I encourage you to stay informed about TRS programs by regularly visiting this website, attending meetings and watching our board meeting webcasts and videos. I also invite you to sign up for email delivery of TRS news and announcements through the Subscribe! section of the website and to check out the many features of our member self-service portal, MyTRS.
With informed and involved members and the support of truly dedicated trustees and staff, TRS is well-positioned to meet any challenges ahead. I am optimistic about the future of TRS. Our system is strong today and I am committed to making sure it remains so.
